 K. Sridhar, one of the world's foremost proponents of the Sarod, is scheduled to perform an evening concert of North Indian classical music.  Local music lovers will have a rare opportunity to hear "...a truly mindblowing musician." -B. Sandala, San Diego Star-News, USA Nov. 2, 2006.

The music of K. Sridhar is often described as an aspiration towards spiritual bliss.  He is a descendent of fourteen generations of temple musicians and was a student of the famous Ustad Zia Mohiuddin Dagar from the devotional Dhrupad tradition of India.  He has performed in India and internationally for over 45 years.  The youngest member ever of Ravi Shankar's orchestral group, he currently is a recording artist for Peter Gabriel's RealWorld Records.  More information about this artist is available on his website at www.sridhar.org

The Sarod is an instrument of great complexity which allows for an extraordinary diversity of sound and mood.  It is known as the Indian lute with twenty-five strings and a fretless fingerboard.  His improvisations within the structure of each raga are noted for their intensity of emotion, whether gentle glissando or lightning-fast percussive resolution of the various themes built within the piece.

Critics and audiences around the world agree that his unique music offers a rare and profound experience.  Come with an open heart and discover a new musical world.

"The spiritual radiance from the fusion of musician and instrument suspended the room in an ocean of bliss."
- G.S. Hohendadel, L'Alsacien, France, May 4, 2004
